Thursday morning we set out to Odori park and to find the Hokkaido University botanical garden. The flower beds through out Odori park are just beautiful, lots of pansies and tulips. (My kinda people here!)
Sapporo is known for its lilacs.
There's even a festival here in Odori park that they were setting up for! :)
Kevin's always so embarrassed by the posed tourist shots.
God forbid you take out a map!
You can see in the back of this picture, they were setting up the vendor tents for the lilac festival.
The three of us are such geeks, this statue brought to mind good ol' GoT. ;)
There was a little corner of one of the blocks that had a whole spring flower display. So many pretty flowers. So many ideas for a future garden!
I tried getting some of the signs in the photos so I could remember the names.
This was Tulipa "Santa Claus".
Tulipa 'candy prince'
Tulipa 'Lingerie'
Tulipa "Paul Scherrer"
Didn't get the name of this one...
Ruffled pansies! AAaaaaaah! Viola 'Moulin Rouge Chianti'
One of my favorite tulips they had: 'Hemisphere'
Sleeping baby. :)
My composition and photo quality wasn't quite up to par in my opinion, but I took all these pictures with sleeping 10+ kg strapped to the front of me so you'll understand if I wasn't really into bending over LOL!
This little bit of the garden was my favorite. Oooh, gives me chills it's so pretty! Perfect shades of blue, pink, and purple. Tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinth, and pansies. Can it get more perfect?
This idea is going to stick with me for life: grape hyacinth path.
